2020 was the year that no one wanted. It seemed as though things went from bad to worse to worst to worster to worstest. And that was only into April…
Living through a global pandemic was not exactly on my “goals” list of 2020 when I made it in January. So much was impacted by COVID-19 this year. 2020 was your text book dumpster fire year. Things were horrible. We lost loved ones, trips were canceled, weddings were canceled and then canceled again, no summer camp, physical distancing and quarantining, going weeks and months without seeing friends and family, graduations were postponed, preschoolers learned through Zoom, along with many other heart breaks throughout the year. It’s easy to think about 2020 in a negative light and want to say “Peace out, 2020. I WILL NOT miss you.”
As I thought back on the year, there were so many moments and memories that brought me joy and gladness in the midst of a pandemic. As I scrolled through Google Photos, I remembered times of togetherness, laughter, and adventure. I want to remember those times. It is, after all, these times that got me through 2020. So here we are at 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 (because of course, I couldn’t have written this by the end of 2020…).
