Dear Program Director,
I see you.
I see you working on the schedule for hours on end,
only to have mistakes pointed out to you.
I see you pouring yourself into this staff.
I see you becoming exhausted:
mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually.
I see you.
I see you overanalyzing all of the conversations you have.
I see you thinking you're not good enough to do this job well,
to be good enough for this camp you call home.
I see you being so empathetic that sometimes it just breaks you and you cannot hold it all.
I see you.
I see you stressing out so much that you need a day off.
I see you second guessing decisions you have to make.
I see you blaming yourself when staff quit.
I see you.
I see you holding things in because you don't have the courage to say them out loud.
I see you staying up until 12:30 at night because that is your 'you time' to relax for a bit.
I see you.
BUT.
I also see you connecting with staff and being their biggest support system.
I see you welcoming campers to their first week of camp.
I see your schedule that makes camp run for the first week and the week after that and the week after that (mistakes and all).
I see you growing in your own faith.
I see you having courage to have difficult conversations.
I see you helping your staff through difficult weeks.
I see you comforting your staff as they cry.
I see you running in to help a homesick camper or a camper who is having a difficult time listening.
I see you doing dishes.
I see you sharing your "God Sighting" during Confirmation Camp.
I see you answering the phone in the office.
I see you pushing yourself to live in the yellow.
I see you growing in so many different ways.
I see you finally realizing the impact you have on this place and the people here.
I see you.
